Everything that changed with items.
Healing and Battle Items
- Changed the amount of HP restored by most healing items, due to the new battle mechanics with level 50 stats.
- Drinks (e.g. Fresh Water) are not usable in battle; they are cost-efficient healing on the field.
- Berry Juice and Moomoo Milk are considered drinks.
- Potions remain usable in battle, but are expensive when compared to drinks.
- Berries have their modern names and grant relative HP healing (e.g. Oran Berry heals for 1/8 max. HP), and can be used as held items.
- Rage Candy Bar is a cheap, field item that heals all status conditions.
- Revival Herb revives for half HP.
- Added a new item: Life Herb - Bitter herb that revives a Pokémon for its full HP.
- Vitamins (e.g. Protein, Iron, etc.) are now consumable held items that boost their respective stat in battle.
- New vitamins were added for missing stats: Zinc (Special Defense), Magnesium (Accuracy), Potassium (Evasion).
- Leppa Berry restores 12 PP when the PP is 8 or less.
- Elixer restores 24 PP, and Max. Elixer restores PP to full.
- Type-boosting items (e.g. Charcoal, Magnet) boost moves for 20% damage rather than 10%.
- X-Items (e.g. X-Attack) grant temporary stat boosts, to be on par with the new battle machacnics.
Poké-Marts
- Changed prices for many items, and updated the inventories of many Poké-Marts.
- The Goldenrod and Celadon department stores now sell Evolution stones.
- Added a Berry market at the Berry house on Route 30, north of Cherrygrove City.
Other Changes
- Improved the availability of many useful items.
- Fixed various bugs regarding Kurt's Poké Balls.
- The moves granted by many TMs and HMs were updated.
- The only practical difference between a TM and an HM is that an HM is a reusable TM.
- Thick Club and Light Ball can no longer make (Special) Attack wrap around above 1024.
- Metal Powder can no longer increase damage taken with boosted (Special) Defense.
